BOB THOMPSON – CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER AND CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Mr. Thompson has over twenty years of business experience including accounting, operational and startup. Prior to joining Southpaw in April 2005, Mr. Thompson was Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of C.E. Unterberg, Towbin from January 1992 to April 2005, where he supervised a staff of five, and was responsible for all financial controls, reporting and much of the business operations including banking/clearing relationships, insurance/risk management, planning and budgeting, contracts, as well as payroll/benefits administration. Mr. Thompson was also instrumental in launching many of C.E. Unterberg, Towbin's hedge and private equity fund products, including review of offering memorandums and partnership agreements and selecting third-party providers for prime-brokerage, fund administration and back-office/accounting. He also liaised with regulators from NASD, SEC and federal/state taxing authorities. Prior to 1992, he was an audit Manager with Deloitte & Touche (via their acquisition of the Los Angeles office of Spicer & Oppenheim) from November 1985 to June 1991. Mr. Thompson received his B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
MICHAEL BENEDETTO – Managing Director, Investor Relations
Prior to joining Southpaw in December 2007, Mr. Benedetto was a Partner at Benedetto, Gartland & Company, Inc. from 1997 to 2007 where he focused on raising capital for sponsors of private equity and hedge funds. At Benedetto, Gartland, he originated and managed numerous fundraisings for leading investment firms and maintained strong relationships with endowments, foundations, fund-of-funds, insurance companies and pension plans. Previously, Mr. Benedetto was with the Mergers and Acquisitions department at Merrill Lynch & Co. Mr. Benedetto received a B.A. in philosophy from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
JEN REINGLASS – Managing Director, Investor Relations
Mrs. Reinglass has over ten years of hedge fund experience including marketing, investor relations, due diligence and analysis. Prior to joining Southpaw in February 2009, Mrs. Reinglass was a Product Specialist at Davidson Kempner Capital Management LLC. At Davidson Kempner, she was responsible for marketing the firm's five investment strategies and maintained a relationship with institutional investors. From 2006 to 2007, Mrs. Reinglass was Director of Investor Relations at Southpaw. From 2005 to 2006, Mrs. Reinglass was a Fund of Funds Analyst at Mitsui & Co. Alternative Investment Corporation where she was responsible for hedge fund due diligence and portfolio construction. From 2001 to 2005, Mrs. Reinglass was an Investment Associate at Spring Mountain Capital, LP where she analyzed hedge funds across various strategies. From 2000 to 2001, Mrs. Reinglass was a Capital Introductions Analyst at Morgan Stanley. Mrs. Reinglass received a B.S. in Finance and Accounting, with honors, from Lehigh University and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
