The founders have extensive experience in restructuring, commercial transaction, creditor committee and trading experience.

HOWARD GOLDEN – Founder and Portfolio Manager
Prior to forming Southpaw in April 2005, Mr. Golden served as a Managing Director of Ramius Capital Group, LLC for five years. During his five-year tenure at Ramius, he headed the RCG Carpathia Master Fund, Ltd. and related assets (the "Carpathia Funds"). The Carpathia Funds employed a Credit Opportunities/Distressed strategy and had total assets under management in excess of $650 million. Prior to joining Ramius in February 2000, Mr. Golden was a Managing Director of Chase Securities, Inc., where he was head of distressed loans – sales, trading, and research, overseeing assets of $250 million and a group of six professionals. From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Golden was Executive Director at CIBC Oppenheimer in charge of distressed loan trading and a Managing Director of MJ Whitman Senior Debt Corp., an investment management firm, where he specialized in research and trading of distressed securities. Prior to 1994, he was Vice President of Argo Partners, Inc., an investment management firm, where he was responsible for sales, trading, and research. Mr. Golden was an Associate in the Corporate Restructuring Department of The Bank of New York from 1990 to 1992. Mr. Golden received his B.S. in Accounting from New York University and his MBA in Finance from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management.

KEVIN WYMAN – Founder and Portfolio Manager
Prior to forming Southpaw in April 2005, Mr. Wyman served as a Managing Director of Ramius Capital Group, LLC for five years. During his five-year tenure at Ramius, he headed the RCG Carpathia Master Fund, Ltd. and related assets (the "Carpathia Funds"). The Carpathia Funds employed a Credit Opportunities/Distressed strategy and had total assets under management in excess of $650 million. Prior to joining Ramius in February 2000, Mr. Wyman was a Senior Vice President at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in the firm’s High Yield Group from 1996 to 2000, where he was responsible for trading distressed bank debt. Prior to joining DLJ, Mr. Wyman was a Managing Director of MJ Whitman Senior Debt Corp., an investment management firm, from 1994 to 1996 where he specialized in research and trading of distressed securities. Mr. Wyman received his B.A. in Economics from Brown University and his JD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
